Post Go Live Fatigue

Post Go Live Fatigue

May 20, 2025

Welcome to the 2,469 Subscribers to my Newsletter. This is my latest Newsletter all about Finance Transformation and it has been on hold for the last 4 weeks whilst I launched my new Book, all about Transforming Finance, which was actually inspired by one of my other Newsletters. I think you could say its a first ever Book collaboration between LinkedIn and my good self in which I did all the work and LinkedIn came on with 90 seconds to go.

Those 4 weeks have been amazing and action packed from start to finish, indeed I had to accept the instruction of my 'Book Program Manager' and NOT post any Articles whilst the Book was fine tuned. For 'fine tuned' insert checking the Irishman's use of 'Dublinisms' and spelling corrections. All the while Man Utd, Liverpool and Bayern Munich were rocking the football world and I could say not a jot. I was sworn to silence.

During this period of time I was at the Man Utd v Lyon match, inspiring the Team to their best comeback since Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Indeed I think it was better than the Champions League 1999 winning comeback because quite frankly the Treble team always had a chance whereas these lads are more wing and a prayer.

Having inspired this comeback, I did really, I told them about the Book at Half time in Extra Time and they were suitably galvanised. I then had to watch whilst Liverpool collected the League Title, Palace won the FA Cup, City and Arsenal remained 'sans' Trophy and Spurs hey.

Those who are regular readers of this Parish know I love my Sport, as I engaging in 12 reviews of the Book, rode countless 'spelling' tackles and engaged in a Website rebrand the World of Sport was rocking. The Dubs were beaten by Meath, Louth won a Leinster, Armagh lads caused brawls in Petrol Stations and Irelands 'craic' 4*400 Mixed Relay team set China alight like a firecracker.

My beloved Man Utd beat Bilbao with Mason delivering a 'Sermon on the Mount' from the half way line. We were in the Final!!! I went scrounging for tickets, with no joy. I will watch the Match tomorrow night from the 'lucky pub' and I predict a 3-3 draw with extra time and Amorin knocking in the winner on Peno's.

You roll an eyebrow at that, did you? All my Football predictions in the New Book came true. I am Paddy Powers worst nightmare when it comes to Finance and Football. Now, I mentioned the Post Go Live Fatigue above because its a fact, its a syndrome its a feeling that only the great Finance Transformation Leaders of our time will experience, or is it...?

Well folks I am here to tell you that when you accomplish something that took a Year to put together, involved a team of creative genius', the co-operation of the Football Calendar and imparted more learnings then an MBA you can be a just a little stuffed when it finally gets over the line.

I advise all my Clients to actually appoint a Go Live Manager and go on holiday, which is what I did. the Book was ready 12 days ago and launched a week ago whilst I went to learn a new song. I went to see Bayern Munich at the Allianz lift the Bundesliga and bid farewell to Thomas Muuuuuuller!

I don't think I have ever seen anyone get such a send off in their last game. Afterwards in a quite moment of reflection he told me 'Post Go Live Fatigue' I hear ya. I have to say that although Utd beat Lyon 5-4 and was heart stopping that absolutely nobody does send offs like Bayern Munich. I was blown away.

'Deutches Fussballmeister FCB!!!'

rang around the Allianz and I swear I'm still singing it in my sleep. Going live with a big one? Take my advice and appoint a 4 week Go Live Program Manager and go watch some football where you have absolutely no vested interest in who wins.

The Book? Its below, just for you, the Subscribers who were with me all Season. Now one last request if I may?

I want to Share the Book far and wide so I need somebody with those Media Contacts please and we can all rock the Business section of the Sunday Times ;)

Cheers,

Michael.
